Faith-Based Advisory Committee

The Faith-Based Advisory Committee is made up of leaders in Hermiston's faith-based community. The committee brings together these various groups to advise the city on issues where City goals cross paths with goals or programs currently offered by the faith-based community.

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.

Duties of Membership

Advise the City Council on Hispanic affairs as they relate to the City of Hermiston by providing a means of communication between the city's Hispanic community and the city's elected and appointed representatives; providing representatives that the city's Hispanic community can contact with  their  issues, concerns, and problems  which  relate  to  the  City of  Hermiston; provide a forum to discuss and listen to issues, concern, and problems of the city's Hispanic community which relate to the City of Hermiston and assist in solving them and developing a stronger community; and working to make Hermiston a truly  inclusive city, respectful of all nationalities, races, ethnic groups, and cultures.

Library Board

4-year terms running from July 1st to June 30th for period specified.

The Library Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Hermiston Public Library at 4:00 pm.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is composed of nine members appointed by the City Council who serve staggered three-year terms running from April 1 through March 31. It is a quasi-judicial committee that makes land use decisions in the City and makes recommendations to the City Council. The Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Hermiston City Hall.

Transit Committee

The Transit Planning Committee is a limited-duration, project-specific committee for the express purpose of providing advice to the City Council regarding the above proposal. The Committee will meet in City’s Halls Council Chambers at 5:00pm on September 13th, October 18th, and November 1st.

The Transit Planning Committee will work with City and CTUIR Staff to review options for enhancing Public Transit options within the City of Hermiston. Specifically, review a proposal from CTUIR to expand their service level within the community to provide a fixed-route bus system and make recommendations to the Hermiston City Council.
