Hermiston Christmas Express Update

Release Date:
11/30/2015

The 46th annual Hermiston Christmas Express Program is well underway and so far the donations have been on par with previous years.

Citizens can donate unwrapped toys and food at the following locations:

  • The Hermiston Police Department located at 330 South 1st Street, 9AM to 5PM Monday through Friday
  • Hermiston City Hall located at 180 NE 2nd Street, 9AM to 5PM Monday through Friday.

We have also placed empty boxes where toys can be dropped off at Bi-Mart, Beall’s, Les Schwab, Banner Bank, and Bare Necessities as well as (9) local churches for their respective congregations.  We always appreciate the support from our local businesses and faith-based community in assisting with this program.

Additionally, the majority of the public schools in Hermiston are holding canned food drives so if you know a student and would like to donate canned goods, have that student turn it in for credit.  A party is awarded to the winning class from each participating school.

The program utilizes various entities to identify families in need.  Each family will be provided approximately 100 lbs. of food including a large turkey and presents are available for children through age 11.

If anyone has any questions about donations, please call Chief Jason Edmiston at 541-667-5107 or email at jedmiston@hermiston.or.us
