Improved Account Management
Improved Operational Efficiency
Your city-owned utility, Hermiston Energy Services, has invested in new automated meters to improve the reliability and efficiency of the existing electric distribution system.
On behalf of HES, Allegiant Utility Services (External Link) will replace existing meters at service locations beginning in January. Installation should be completed by the end of March.
The impact of the installation will be minimal. You can expect to lose power for a few minutes on the day of the installation. In addition, your next electric utility bill may show two meter readings: one from the old meter and one from the new meter.
The new automated meters will enable us to remotely read meters and to more quickly determine the cause and location of an outage.
To help you better manage your energy account, you will be able to view your hourly power usage on our SmartHub payment portal on your computer or mobile device. You will have access to an additional payment option, our prepaid billing program.
We anticipate efficiencies from the new meters will provide long-term cost savings.
