Maria E. Duron

Maria Duron was born in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, the daughter of hard-working parents Rafael Rosas and Atalia Carrera. Duron grew up with one sibling and spent her first 11 years in Nuevo Laredo. She is a Umatilla High School graduate and has lived in Hermiston since 1992.

Duron has three children, Natalí, Anthony and Miguel.

Community Service

Duron served on the Hermiston School District Board of Directors for eight years and is a member of the Latino Business Network.

Council Appointment

Duron was elected in November 2020 and wants to work with her fellow councilors and city officials to make the Hermiston community better for future generations.
